SOON develops two key products: SOON Mainet and SOON stack. SOON Mainnet is a general-purpose SVM Layer 2 that settles on Ethereum. SOON stack will be an open-sourced SVM framework that unlocks universal L1 liquidity for SVM developers. The SOON Stack accelerates SVM adoption and enables high throughput on any L1. We will explore what SOON is, its mission, architecture, and key/unique features!

What is SOON?

SOON Mainnet is a general purpose Layer 2 that settles on Ethereum. Upon launch, SOON Mainnet will drastically increase the overall TPS capacity of the Ethereum ecosystem, by around 65k TPS, owing to the high performance of the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM). The SOON SVM also benefits from not needing to dedicate threads to vote transactions.

SOON Stack is the first SVM framework using OP Stack, allowing for an SVM Layer 2 to be deployed on any Layer 1. This unites universal Layer 1 liquidity and SVM developers. The SOON Stack allows for the deployment of SVM Chains on top of any L1 (such as Bitcoin and Cosmos). Where it’s deployed, SOON can drastically increase the overall throughput of the ecosystem, while keeping fees low. Furthermore, we aim to partner with EVM RaaS (Rollup-as-a-Service) providers and add SVM RaaS to their services to make deployment even easier for users. SOON Stack is a multi-chain Layer 2 scaling solution that utilizes SVM, aiming to enhance the efficiency and scalability of any Layer 1.

By leveraging the high-performance characteristics of SVM, SOON provides a more powerful, faster, and cost-effective computing environment. It enables developers and users to transcend the limitations of traditional EVM blockchains while preserving security and decentralization features.

Mission: Accelerating SVM Adoption as S(o,o)n as possible

Upon mainnet launch, SOON Stack will be open-sourced. Any project or developer can permissionlessly deploy their own SOON Chain on any L1. This will drive the adoption of the SVM on top of any base layer, be it in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cosmos or others. This is in line with Anatoly’s vision of seeing more SVM L2s than EVM L2s.

SVM architecture supports a multitude of high-quality DApps that harness its advanced capabilities for unparalleled speed and efficiency. Developers benefit from a robust ecosystem where rapid transaction processing and minimal costs are the norm, enabling them to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure limitations. Through strategic partnerships and builder-driven initiatives, SOON will cultivate a vibrant ecosystem where creativity can flourish and solutions to real-world problems emerge organically.

Key Features

Battle-tested security: SOON leverages the battle-tested set of contracts of the OP Stack with the minimum changes required to integrate it with the SVM.

High-Performance Parallel Processing: SOON makes use of SVM for parallel processing, significantly boosting transaction speeds and supporting expansive applications.

Permissionless Fault Proofs: SOON utilizes OP Stack’s decentralized fault proof mechanism, enabling any user to submit a fault proof on an L1 in order to challenge the state of the SOON L2.

Enhanced User Experience: SOON delivers superior dApps and experiences for users of blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Cosmos, while also expanding opportunities for Solana developers.

Network of SVMs: SOON chains on top of varying L1s can have enhanced interoperability through a uniform bridging and messaging interface, owing to the uniform usage of the SVM.
